Grievance & Complaint Policy
How to report illegal content, privacy violations, copyright complaints, and safety concerns

1.Overview
WizNova™ is committed to providing a safe and lawful platform. This Grievance & Complaint Policy is established in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 ("IT Act") and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 ("IT Rules"), and is consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").
This Policy describes how users and third parties may raise complaints about content on the WizNova™ JEE Forum, and how WizNova will handle those complaints.

The Grievance Officer is responsible for receiving, acknowledging, and resolving complaints in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.
3.Urgent and Child-Safety Complaints
⚠ If you find content involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or a credible threat of violence, contact us immediately:

We will act within 24 hours and report the matter to the relevant law enforcement authority.
You may also report CSAM directly to the National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline or to the Cyber Crime Portal of the Government of India at cybercrime.gov.in.
4.Types of Complaints We Accept
We accept complaints from users and third parties about the following categories of content on the Forum:
Illegal Content
Content that violates Indian law, including content that threatens national security, promotes terrorism, is obscene under the IT Act, or constitutes a criminal offence.
Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
Any content that sexually exploits or abuses children. This is treated as an emergency — see above.
Privacy Violations
Content that discloses your personal information without consent, including your name, address, phone number, photograph, or other identifying information.
Copyright Infringement
Content that reproduces your copyrighted work (question papers, books, study materials, images) without permission.
Defamation
Content that makes false statements of fact about you that damage your reputation.
Harassment and Abuse
Content that targets you personally with abuse, threats, or sustained harassment.
Impersonation
Content where someone is falsely claiming to be you, your institution, or an official body.
Misinformation about Examinations
Deliberately false information about JEE results, cut-offs, ranks, or counselling that could cause harm to aspirants.
5.How to Submit a Complaint
You may submit a complaint in two ways:
1. In-app Report button: Click the "Report" button on any post or comment and select the appropriate reason. This is the fastest way to flag content for review.
2. Email to the Grievance Officer: For complaints that require more detail (copyright, defamation, privacy, legal notices), email [email protected] with the following information:
- Your full name and contact email address
- The URL of the content you are complaining about
- The category of complaint (from the list above)
- A clear description of the complaint and the harm caused
- For copyright complaints: proof of ownership of the copyrighted work
- For privacy complaints: identification of the personal information disclosed
- A declaration that the information in your complaint is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge
6.Response Timelines
We will handle complaints within the following timelines:

All timelines are measured from the time we receive a complete complaint with all required information.
7.Possible Outcomes
After reviewing a complaint, we may:
- Remove or hide the content
- Edit the content to remove the offending portion
- Issue a warning to the content author
- Suspend or ban the content author's account
- Refer the matter to law enforcement
- Determine that no action is warranted and close the complaint
We will notify you of the outcome of your complaint by email. We will not disclose the identity of the person who submitted a complaint to the subject of the complaint, except as required by law.
8.Escalation
If you are not satisfied with the resolution of your complaint, you may:
- Request a review by emailing [email protected] with the subject line "Escalation Request — [your original complaint reference]"
- Approach the Data Protection Board of India (once constituted under the DPDP Act) for privacy-related complaints
- Seek recourse through the appropriate court of law in Pune, Maharashtra, India
9.Misuse of the Grievance Mechanism
The grievance mechanism must not be used to:
- Suppress legitimate speech or criticism
- Target users you disagree with
- Submit false or frivolous complaints
Repeated misuse of the grievance mechanism may result in restrictions on your ability to submit future complaints.
