The next chapter

My journey as a Mathematics educator has been an unexpected and deeply fulfilling one.

I never imagined that teaching Mathematics would become such an important part of my life. But sometimes, life takes you on a path you never planned — and eventually you realise that it was exactly where you were meant to be.

The Beginning — Bakliwal Tutorials IIT

After my time at DRDO, an interesting opportunity came through a close friend, Gunjan Sharma.

Gunjan's friend, Vaibhav Bakliwal, was starting a new JEE institute called Bakliwal Tutorials IIT in Pune. Vaibhav asked Gunjan: "If you know anyone who is interested in teaching JEE Mathematics, let me know."

Gunjan thought of me. I met Vaibhav, and that meeting changed the direction of my professional life.

I joined Bakliwal Tutorials IIT as a Founder Teacher for Mathematics. I decided to leave DRDO and give my complete energy to teaching. And what followed was an absolutely wonderful experience. When I joined Bakliwal Tutorials IIT, I had a dream of becoming the best Mathematics teacher in Pune. I gave my complete energy to teaching and kept working hard to make my students understand Mathematics, not just solve problems. Within two years, the love and appreciation I received from my students made me feel that I had achieved that dream. Their messages, especially after getting selected into IITs, were incredibly special to me. Their success became my success. That experience made me realize that teaching was not just my profession — it was something I truly loved.

Just three teachers. There was something special about those early days. We were building something from the ground up, and we were fortunate to get a wonderful set of students. Teaching them, interacting with them and watching them grow was immensely satisfying. I enjoyed every bit of it. It wasn't just a job. It was the beginning of a new life in education.

2011 — A New Chapter: Prime Academy Pune

In 2011, due to some issues, I decided to leave Bakliwal Tutorials. Soon after, another opportunity came my way — I joined Prime Academy Pune as a partner.

The founder of Prime Academy, Mr. Lalit Kumar, was a friend of my friend and colleague, Rahul Sir. I came on board as a partner, and what began as a professional association gradually became something much deeper. Over time, Lalit Sir became more than a colleague or a business partner. He became like a brother. He has stood by me during some of the toughest periods of my life, and that support is something I will always value.

A Wonderful Journey at Prime Academy

Since June 2011, I have been teaching Mathematics at Prime Academy Pune. And once again, we were fortunate to have exceptional students. Year after year, we saw students work hard, overcome challenges and achieve their dreams. Many of our students went on to become IITians and pursue successful careers in different fields.

The success of Prime Academy has been extremely gratifying, and our success ratio has been among the best in the nation.

More Than 15 Years. Thousands of Students. Countless Memories.

Every batch has been different. Every student has had a different story. Some were exceptionally talented. Some struggled initially. Some needed confidence. Some needed discipline. Some simply needed someone to tell them:

"You can do it. Keep going."

And perhaps that is what I have enjoyed most about teaching. It isn't only about Mathematics. It is about people. It is about seeing a student who once struggled with a concept eventually solve a difficult problem with confidence. It is about watching a teenager enter the classroom with a dream and leave two years later with a completely different level of confidence.

Why I Still Teach

After all these years, I could have chosen to move away from the classroom. But I don't want to. I still love teaching. I still enjoy standing in front of a student and explaining a difficult mathematical idea. I still enjoy that moment when a student's face suddenly changes because —

"Oh! Now I understand!"

That moment is priceless. And that is why, since June 2011, I have been teaching at Prime Academy Pune — and I intend to continue teaching in the future as well.

From Knowledge to Understanding

Over the years, my understanding of education has also evolved. I have realised that teaching is not about simply delivering information. A student may know a formula. But knowing a formula doesn't necessarily mean understanding Mathematics. And understanding Mathematics doesn't automatically mean knowing when and how to use it.

That is why I believe education should progress from:

Knowledge — tells you what.

Understanding — tells you how.

↓

Wisdom — tells you when, why and where to use it.

This philosophy is at the heart of WizNova — The Wisdom Nova.

And the Journey Continues…

From leaving a career in defence research… to becoming one of the founding teachers of a new JEE institute… to joining Prime Academy Pune… to teaching thousands of aspiring engineers — the journey has been completely unexpected. And yet, when I look back, every chapter seems to have prepared me for the next one.

Today, through WizNova, I want to take everything I have learned over these years and share it with an even larger community of students. Not by replacing the classroom. But by taking the classroom beyond its walls. Through teaching, YouTube, conversations, podcasts, shows, books and stories.

The journey that began with teaching Mathematics continues with WizNova.
